getting a mainland China business travel visa from HK |

Hi there,
I am a French citizen living in LA. I want to go to Shanghai for 12
months to do business research. My problem is if I apply for such a
visa at consulate here, they ask me an invitation letter from
Chinese company and government.I have been told I can bypass
that trouble by getting my visa with a Hong kong company or to
go to Shanghai with an easy to get tourist visa and to change it
there for a fee.
Is it true ? which travel agency in HK do you recommend ?Thanks
for big help. Elmer |

Different Chinese Visa is for different purpose. If you go to Shanghai for business research as what you said above, you should get a Visit/Business Visa (Visa F). For Visa F, the invitation letter from the inviting unit or a visa notification letter/telegram from the authorised unit is required.
But if you want a Tourism Visa (Visa L), I think if you book a tour to Shanghai, China, that would be easy, fast and convenient. |
