I will be going on a 3 week business trip to Shanghai in a week December25th 2004 -- I'm an avid fisherman, I would like to fish somewhere in Shanghai, is there charter boats, any public areas to fish, licence required? thanks

I would not even smell on a fish taken out of Shanghai's water - protection of environment is unknown.

you will see when you're there - water doesn't mean water, its only a stinky liquid used for the transportation of goods. I am sure you would not like to fish in chemical substances, do you?

Shanghai is fascinating, for sure - but they really don't take care of anything like evironment, people etc.

Usually no real public place for fishing like here in north America...there are fish pools and you just pay for what you can get out there. I don't think that's the thing you want, right?

Do you have a fishing report from your December trip?

I recently moved to Shanghai and talked to some local fishing communities. Looks like the locals are interested in fresh water pole fishing. May that out or on a fly.
