A week in China end of April |

I fly into Shanghai end of April and have 8 days to spend. I wonder what else I could do apart from hanging around in the city for all that time.
I was thinking about spending 50/50 in Shanghai and Beijing with a one-way flight between the two cities (found an offer for apprx. 130 USD). Another option would be do a few side trips from Shanghai (or one bigger side-trip for a couple of days).
Do you think I can easily fill 8 days around Shanghai or would you recommend the Shanghai plus Beijing option. |

If this is a once in a liftime visit, then go for the Shanghai + Beijing option.
Spend 3 days in Shanghai (incl 2 daytrips) and 5 days Beijing (incl daytrip to the Great Wall).
Take the nighttrain to and from Beijing to save time. |
