I have a frequent flyer miles that can get me as far as either Beijing, Shanghai, Gyuangzou, Tokyo, or Seoul. Can someone advise me which city will have the cheapest connection to Lhasa (probably via Chengdu)? I also need a recommendation for a travel agency. I will not be buying a ticket from the US to Asia, since I will be using frequent flyer miles.

If your frequent flyer miles are on NW Airlines, you can fly to Chengdu from KL, via LAX or Seoul. Be sure to give the agent Chendgu's airline code, which is CTU. The flights are several days a week, not daily. If the agent can not find a flight, have her check it in reverse, from Chengdu back to you original destination. Frequent flyer destinations are not always listed on the airlines maps, and the agents are not use to weird destenations, so you have to be patient and help them out a bit. |
