Hi, I have a few questions to reply: Tibet

1. How much would it cost to get from KTM to Lhasa in a jeep, do you usually stop at Everest Base camp on the way? I've read some information about 15USD on a 5 day tour, does it leave anytime for sightseeing on the way??
2. How much would it cost to get to Mt Kailash on a tour organised from Lhasa?
3. Again, if leaving by Tibet -Yunnan road, are there trips organised from Lhasa as well? What would it cost-per person/jeep?

I asked some travelers the other day how much they paid from KTM to Lhasa and they said they paid $120 per person. You may be able to get this a little lower during the winter months. To the Nepal border from Lhasa is around $61 (Y500) per person in a full LandCruiser (4 people). An organzied tour from Lhasa to Kailash taking 15 days costs around Y14,000 ($1705) for a full LandCruiser (4 people). The travel agent at the Banak Shol hotel in Lhasa gave me this quote. The Kirey Hotel travel agent told me Y17,000 for the same trip. You can also arrange a trip from Lhasa to Yunnan at the travel agencies in Lhasa. I am not sure of the cost of this.
