What do you wish you had brought on your trip to China? |

I will be spending a month and a half in China around Nanjing, Shanghai, Hangzhou this summer. I'm trying to compile a list of things that I should bring, personal provisions and otherwise, that I might regret forgetting at home.
When you went to China, was there anything you wish you had brought with you? In general, I mean things from the likes of a specific kind of OTC medicine that you weren't able to find (NyQuil? things like that), or rolls of a certain kind of film for your camera that you thought you would be able to find.
I also would include gifts in this list, something from home that you realized later would have made a great gift for friends in China. Does anyone have any suggestions? |

As for medication, I wish I had brought both fiber or stool softeners for the first two weeks of constipation, and medication for diaherra control for the last two weeks. A course of Cipro might work for the diaherra. If there is some kind of overthecounter meds you might use, bring them because it would be almost impossible to find. If you plan to ride a boat, bring some medicine for sea sicknessI never had any trouble finding film. Maybe bring high speed, and extra camera battery. The film I found in China was cheap and fresh. Batteries were not. I didn't bring enough granola bars to snack on. However, oreos and Dove bars seemed to be prominently found. If you are eating out in restaurants, you might want your own chopsticks because often they looked rather old. They seemed to enjoy t-shirts from the school I work at. They didn't seem to recognize the signficance of Indian jewelry as the women do not wear much jewelry. |
