Got a question. When in china I am looking at buying some chinese silk and instead of lugging it around with me for the full 3 weeks I was thinking about posting it home (Queensland, Australia) from Beijing. How does one go about doing this? Is it expensive to do? I know that chinese silk material is pretty heavy. |

It is very simple.
You go to the main post office right at the north east of Jianguomen.
Since they're one of the very few post offices doing this service, they spend their time doing just that : sending silk to Australia, it seems to be an Australian obsession to send silk home.
They will sell you the carton, pack it and all.
It's about (very approximate) 300 RMB for one or 2 Kg but then it almost doesn't change when you add more, maybe it will cost 400 for 20 Kg.
It will take well over 2 months to get there. |
