How much does it cost round trip to fly from Beijing to Chengdu, and then Chengdu to Lhasa? I'm a working stiff and only have 3 weeks. I went to the China Southwest airlines sight and it was only in Chinese. Is it possible to buy this ticket ahead of time? |

The cost of a flight from BJ to CD is around Y1000 one-way. The cost from CD to LS is Y1900 (with permit). THe return flight from LS to CD is Y1500. So your total cost roundtrip should be around Y5400 ($658 USD). It is possible to buy the BJ to CD ticket when you arrive in China. THere are several guesthouses and travel agencies in Chengdu that can arrange your permit and ticket to Lhasa. One I would recommend is Sims Cozy Guesthouse...www.gogosc.com. You can buy your return tickets in Chengdu or in Lhasa. You should have no problem buying these tickets in China. Email Sim's and see if they can prepare your permit and ticket before you arrive in Chengdu. |
