Measley fortnight |

Hi all,
The boyfriend and I have got two weeks in China and Hong Kong. We land in Beijing and obviously want to do the usual touristy stuff there aswell as see the Terracotta Army blah blah blah, then after a week or so travel to Hong Kong.
1) How easy is the getting from A to B in China?
2) Which is the best way to get into Hong Kong ? Flight, ferry, train etc?
3) Am I being ridiculous in wanting some beach time in Hong Kong?
My knowledge of this area is less than minimal so any info would be a great help !
Thanks |

Getting from A to B is pretty straight. Take about 3/4 days in Beijing and then ride the overnight train to Xi'an. Great fun in the hard sleeper cars and you get to meet some locals on the way. 2/3 days in Xi'an and then fly to Shen Zhen or Guang Zhou. Shen Zhen is on the border with Hong kong and Guang Zhou is a few hours train ride to Hong Kong. If money is no problem, then go direct Xi'an to Hong Kong. There are ok beaches in Hong Kong.
I just returned from Hong Kong, and the weather last week was pretty warm.
It can be a warm as 26C these days, but it can also be 18C.
So with a little luck, it's possible to spend a day on the beaches. |
