planning on a trip to Guilin in March |
|
|
I have just booked a side trip in March from Bangkok with Bangkok Airways at a promotional fare of about THB7000 or £100 return and booked 4 nights accommodation at the Sheraton Guilin at US$55 per night! Demonstrating the travel bargains available currently in S.E. Asia.
I plan on staying in Guilin for 4 nights (5 days) Monday to Friday inclusive. I hear that the river boat trips are the thing to do? As anyone any experience, tips or guidance?
Thank you |

The Dragon Backbone Rice Terrraces two hours north of Guilin are beautiful. I definitely suggest a day trip there. I would also recommend spending two days (if possible) in Yangshuo as it's much easier to get around yourself there. Biking through the Yangshuo countryside is a not-to-be-missed experience. Guilin is more of a 'city' and doens't give you so much of the feeling of oneness with the scenery as Yangshuo does.
But it also has its scenic attractions. The Reed Flute Cave and Seven Star Park are the best among them in my eyes.
Hope you have a wonderful time.
