I just finished a two year stint teaching English in Korea. I'm about to head to China to study and I was wondering about the job scene in Beijing. In Korea, there weren't really too many problems teaching with a tourist visa, even though it was technically illegal. What's it like in Beijing? Any info would be greatly appreciated! |

There's various free lance stuff and some fly-by-night operators willing to hire anyone. It can be done, but China is a little more control oriented than Korea. I guess it depends on whether or not you don't care if you get caught and asked to leave the country. If a school needs a teacher. they can usually help change the visa to a work visa.
If you stay with doing part-time stuff that pops up while you are studying, you won't have a problem. |
