Is it true that all Chinese bicycles do not have lights? If this is true which could be the reason? why chinese peoplle like cycling?

some have but useless.you have to knowless people do cycling
during the night. in Peking and Shanghai , there are lots and lots of bikes driving around.

I could understand some reasons:

First of all the bike is the most important transportation vehicle in China - I've seen guys in Shanghai transporting 30 concrete bags on his bike on a wooden platforn

Second young people like to sit - driving by - on the steering

Third bikers are always endangered as the stronger one will win - thats the way of chinese traffic.
Chinse poeple are rich in life experience. Lights are expensive and subject to broken.
Bike do is the most important transportation vehicle in China,especially in the plan area.
But paople seldom ride when it is dark.It is dengerous,not because having no light.
They may ride in the evening,but there are lights at each sides of the road--most time there are.Even so,it is dengerous when it is too late in the evening,ride a bike just a little better than walk!some one may attack you.
So the light is somewhat usless!
