5 Days in Hong Kong and Hungry! |
|
|
Hi guys,
I am first time visitor to Hong Kong and have two main things to ask:
1. What should I budget for a day (in HK$) to be able to get two meals, a few drinks (of the alcoholic variety) and some transport around Kowloon and Lantau?? What is the average price for a meal and for a bus/other transport around Kowloon?
2. Where are the best places to eat (cheap) around Temple St?
Thanks Everyone |

For cheap and typical food in HK, stick to local fast-food restaurants where you can get anything from congee and soup noodles to rice with soup and tea/coffee (set lunch or dinner). Lots of varieties. Prices range between HKD15-40. You can find this type of restaurants in almost every street. Simply ask around.
In Temple Street, try the street stalls, shop around, look at what the locals eat, if you find anything interesting, sit down, point at whatever interested you and enjoy. These stalls are most famous for the fried food (with the wok).
One-way travel with bus within Kowloon is around HKD6 depends how far you go. There is a Tourist MTR 1-Day Pass which allows you unlimited rides on the MTR (subway) for one day (see http://www.mtr.com.hk/eng/train/ticket.html )
Can't help you with drinks, I don't drink. |
