I'm currently in Thailand and intend to fly to Chengdu then to Tibet. From Tibet I'll possibly fly back to Chengdu. From here I'll try to make my way to Mongolia. What's the best way to get to Mongolia? if it involves flying from Beijing, how much is a return flight from Bejing to Mongolia? Where's the best place to get a Mongolian visa? Can I cross by land into Mongolia?

The best place to get a visa is usually an embassy. There is a Mongolian embassy in Bangkok (unfortunately, the new website of the Mongolian foreign ministry seems to be still under construction, but you can find the address in the mongolian section), but you can apply in Beijing as well. There are also consulates in Hohhot and Ereen.
You can cross into Mongolia by plane, by train or by car. |
