Red House in Beijing |
|
|
I'm planning to visit China solo for about three weeks in July; this will be my first time there. I plan to stay in Beijing for about a week, and had Red House suggested to me as the closest equivalent to apartment-style living. (I like to occasionally make my own meals when I'm travelling, as a time saver and because, in three weeks, eating out alone can get a little boring.)
My questions~Anyone here stayed there or seen it recently? What did you think of it?
Was the location pretty good for "touristy" stuff? Any suggestions or advice about it--or suggested alternatives? What about the budget way?
Thanks! |

I havn't tried to live in that manner in China, I've only stayed on low-budget hostels...but eventhough I traveled around for 3 weeks alone as well I never found it borring to eat out alone. Because in China everybody can see that you are a foreigner and they want to practise their English. So I found that in those three weeks I only ate alone very rarely. And furthermore, you are going to China over the summer where many backpackers visit the country, so I guess that it is not impossible to meet some one and have a meal with them...in that way you also get to know many new people...
Take care and have a wonderful journey to China... |
