Postal Codes in China? |

Does anyone know how I can find the postal code for Emeishan (Mt. Emei) in China?
If I sent a package with an address in Chinese characters with no postal code, from the US, would it get there?
Thanks! |

It would be an interesting experiement to drop a letter in a box with only Chinese and see if it ever arrived, but I wouldn't try it with anything that I wanted to actually get delivered!
Postcode for Mt. Emei appears to be: 614201
Even with the postal code, I think you should include the address in English/pinyin. The US Post office kind of insists on this--they need at least the city, province and country. And write 'P.R. China' or 'People's Republic of China' not just 'China'. I had at least one letter sent to the Republic of China before it arrived to me in Beijing.
Once it gets to China, the post office there actually does a pretty good job of figuring out where things go even with an address all in pinyin/English and the wrong postcode. |
