We plan to be in Shenzhen in early March. Does anyone have infomation on train or air travel from Shenzhen to Guilin or recommendations on which is better? Thank you.

Comparing train, bus, and flight.
Flight - expensive but fast. If you don't have time, this is the choice.
Bus - over night 11 hours from Shenzhen, narrow bed and bumpy, but cheapest way.
Train - over night 14 hours from Guangzhou. More comfy than bus, you can walk around & have toilets & food available on board. But it's slowest.
