Hello, I would like to know if anyone can tell me how to get a visa for china from the United States. How much will it cost? How long will it last? Who do I call to get it? Can I get it in Los Angeles? |

Funny you should ask. Just today I was at the Chinese Visa office in LA (500 Shatto Place, off 4th near Vermont). I was asking about getting a single entry visa ($50) that would be valid beyond the standard three-months-from-issue (I'm leaving the U.S. in April but not getting to China until September).
Their answer was to either get a multi-entry visa valid for one year ($150) or just wait and get my Chinese visa in Bangkok (my last stop before China). This sounded fishy to me because most other countries require that you get a visa in your home country, but a fellow in line assured me that he's done it that way and it's no problem. |
