where to find Goddess of Mercy shrines on a trip in China? |

Does anyone know if there are any Goddess of Mercy (Guanyin, Kuanyin, Goonyam) shrines/temples in Beijing. Maybe the Great Bell Temple? The goddess of mercy is usually shown with thousands of arms (sometimes not), and in Chinese Buddhism is almost always regarded as female. Her birthday is celebrated on March 28 this year.
If you are unfamiliar with any specific shrines/temples, do you know of any organizations I might be able to contact to find out?

This is a very interesting search. I assume you have an academic interest in it? I found some.
Guanyindian, Taoranting, Xuanwu District
Guanshiyin Bosadian, Fenghuang Scenic Area
Yonghegong (Lama Temple)
1000 arm Guanyin, Puning Temple, Chengde (daytrip from Beijing)
The Great Bell Temple, Dazhongsi, is now the Old Bell Museum and no longer a temple. There doesn't seem to be Guanyin there. |
