travel from HK to Shanghai by train, how much and how long? |

Can someone tell me how much the train is and how long it takes from Hong kong to Shanghai and will it be cheaper if I crossed over the border to China and got the train from there |

Definitely cheaper across the border, but it may be difficult to get tickets. Guangzhou to Shanghai is only once a day and takes about 28 hours. It leaves GZ at 9:14 am and for a hard seat class it is 208 rmb. You get tickets in GZ at #32 wicket at the main train station...they speak English. Or get them from a travel agent there and pay a fee. |
