China in March |

My wife and I will have a month's holiday after the first week in March until the second week of April, and we're thinking of China. We're rather not do a group tour if possible, and we're more backpackers than anything else. We're wondering about the weather, and also about how difficult it is to get around; our languages are Spanish, English, and Russian. We also need to know roughly what costs are.in budget way. Thanks. |

I know this sounds a bit cliched, but have you bought a copy of the Lonely Planet? It wouldn't be a bad place to start. Russian, Spanish and English won't be of much use to you, although English may be used in the tourist areas of the big cities (Beijing, Shanghai) so you might be wise to look at guided tours or finding a local friend.
In all honesty, I think that buying LP China is probably the best investment of US $30 you can make, especially as it has a LOT of information about weather, getting around, costs etc. Once you have a bit more of an idea of some places you would like to see, it might be easier if you have more specific questions. |
