Hello!
I am about to embark on my rtw adventure, and will be having a stop over in Hong Kong for one day (6am - midnight) ...what do you recommend? I'd be interested in checking out some cool markets, and also good sightseeing places etc...
thanks |

Hi, I'm in HK at the moment and one of the nice things to do is to go down to Stanley for the day. There are markets and beaches and lovely restaurants on the promonade.
In HK itself you can go to the Peak, get the Star ferry over to Kowloon and there is the HK cultural centre there.
A bit off the beaten track, but you would have lots of time to do it...on Lantau Island (which is where the airport is) There is the big Buddha and the monastry which are great to visit. You can get the ferry from pier # 6 to Mui Wo and then the buses (#2 I think) will take you there. From the airport, the bus to get is the A35...Stay on till the last stop and you're in Mui Wo. The bus journey is rocky, but interesting to say the least!!!
