Hi, could anyone tell me what an average airfare would cost from New York to Hong Kong? Just a basic round-trip, leaving in June/July and returning in September. I saw around US$700 on Travelocity - is that about right? Thanks!

You can get very cheap flights flying out from New York to Hong Kong.

The flight I recomend you the most is the Continental non - stop flight from Newark airport, which you can get for around $1000 USD in a "BLXAPHK" fare basis.
Or if you prefer a cheaper flight (with stops and plane changes) try Aeroflot (about 850 in a "TKAN3M" fare basis), or China Airlines (850 in a "QLXS6M" fare basis).

All this fares are weekday rates, for weekends add 50 to 80 USD more.

Also a good option would be flying out of Toronto to Los Angeles (around 300 USD with Delta or US Airways), and then from lax to hkg with many airlines for (600) this could be a better option because you have shorter flight segments, rather than the 17 1/2 hour Continental Airlines straight flight (although I insist it's your best option).

Finally, don't book this flights with expedia, travelocity, orbitz or whatever, sometimes travel agents can be very economic if you know the bussiness, that's why I gave you the fare basis so you compell him to sell that fare.
