Is there any night trains (sleepers) from Guiyang to Guilin? Where can I find the schedule?
How long does it take to go from Guiyang to Guilin? LP says 3-4 hours but it seems to me quite impossible.
How difficult will it be to buy a train ticket in Guiyang for immediate departure?

It must be a faster train than the one I rode several years ago. It seemed to me that I got on the train around 2 AM and didn't get to Guilin until around 7 or 8 in the morning. Seemed more like a six hour trip.

When you say you want to buy a ticket for immediate departure from Guiyang, how are you getting into that place? Are you already living there or arriving from another city that day? When I did it, we had paid for a ticket all the way to Guang Zhou and got off the train in Guiyang in order to get over to Guilin. Then we just stayed on the plattform and waited for the train to Guilin. We got on and paid for a hard seat from the conductor. There are cars with sleeper bunks, but it isn't like an overnight trip, a little shorter than that.
