how about travel from Nepal to Tibet on my own? |

This old one again! Let me see if I have this straight: the only way to get into Tibet from Nepal is to go on an expensive tour with a minimum of four people, and then the only way to get to China is if the same four people then travel together to China. Sounds a bit difficult since I'm on my own. Is this correct? Is there something that I have missed? As an alternative, how much would a plane ticket cost to fly from Katmandu to Kunming for example. I'm trying to find a viable plan because I don't really want to backtrack through Pakistan and up the KKH. |

You have to go on a group but I think it only needs to be 2 people. The groupvisa can be splitted and it's apparently getting a bit easier but still not very easy. Rules are changing fast so you never know. So it's definitely not impossible to split from the group and travel onwards on a regular touristvisa. but now I think you can get it solved in Lhasa. You can fly from Katmandu to some airports in China but I don't know which and I don't know the prices.
TRAVELLERS WHO HAVE DONE THIS TRIP RECENTLY EITHER WITH SUCCES OR FAILURE PLEASE COME FORWARD, WE REALLY NEED AN UPDATE ON THE SITUATION |
