Islamabad to Kashgar |

I understand that Xinjiang Airlines started a new route in June 2004 from Urumqi to Islamabad with a stopover in Kashgar. Does it mean Kashgar airport has been upgraded to be an international airport? What is the schedule like (day, departure and arrival times) and how much is the airfare? I am interested with the sector from Islamabad to Kashgar.
What is Xinjiang Airlines' website? I have searched internet but can't find the above info. Your help is very much appreciated. |

No, in Aug 2004 the only fly (international) is from Uuumqi not Kashi. |

The flight exists, on Saturdays I think (on paper Tuesdays too but that one doesn't go!) What happens is the Urumqi Islamabad flight lands in Kashgar on the way.
Getting tickets is the tricky bit unless you are near a china southern office. China Southern have taken over (sorry merged with) Xinjiang airways - although this flight does not seem to be on their website yet
Hope that helps, sorry not to have more details - all this is theory as I don't know anyone personally who has done the flight - so don't get angry with me if it doesn't work out!
