ideas of Tibet travel permit and ticket reservation |

Hello
We are planning to travel to Tibet from Chendu and after reading previous messages, see that we can obtain the traveller permit from a travel agency there. Would we be able to book the one way tickets into Lhasa and the permits at the same place? Is it really just one day for both to be issued? And does anyone have any recommendations as to where to book in Chengdu

Yes. Contact a travel agency and they will arrange the package with one way ticket and permit. Often it can be done from day to day. They will not sell you a single ticket without a permit.
I normally use one of the travel agencies at the Traffic Hotel. The agency at Sims Cozy Guesthouse gets good ratings too. Contact them at www.gogosc.com. They can start arranging things ahead. |

Hello Dears,
Can somebody tell us how complecate the individuel travel in Tibet is?
We will drive by Jeep from Lhasa to the Mt.Kailash and back.
We do not need a guide - just a driver..
Is that possible ?? Can we organize it on location or do we needlots of time ???

Sonam ,you can find a driver if you contact with any travel company,to find travel company is easy by net or phone ,if you are near Xinjiang, you can call us or write to this page ,you also can organise your time for Tibet so don't worry that it doesn't take much time

CAN ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA THE GUEST HOUSE CALLED "SOATSANG" IN CHINESE, ALSO CALLED "NAY-LANG KHANG" IN TIBETAN. BASICALLY IT'S A GUEST HOUSE WHERE YOU CAN GET THE PERMIT TO TRAVEL IN TIBET. SOMEONE TOLD ME IT'S HOTEL AND AT THE LOBBY OF THIS HOTEL IS WHERE YOU GET YOUR PERMIT AND GET OK FROM THE "THUNG-DANG-PO" IN CHINESE, WHICH IS BASED IN LHASA. this guest house is located half an hour from the Chengdu Airport (CTU)
