Roundtrip Shanghai - Xiangtan - Taiwan - Hongkong - Kunming |

Are you aware that you cannot take a direct flight from the mainland to Taiwan? You must go via Hong Kong, so allow for that in your itinery. You can reach Hangzhou and Suzhou in 1-2 hours by train (hourly services I think) from Shanghai, so you could easily visit them with a day trip, but I suggest you stay overnight to get the most out of them. Guangzhou is about 2-3 hours from HK by ferry. As for the other places, I guess you will need to take flights to avoid spending half your trip sitting on trains.
As for the weather, Shanghai will be cool in March, you might need a warm jacket rather than sandals. Hong Kong and Guangzhou will be warming up by then, sandals could be fine there. |
