Zhao'An Hotel- transport convinient for travelers,Shanghai |

Are there many places to eat & drink in the area the Zhao'An is in? Or would you automatically jump on the subway to go elsewhere to eat & dine, if you were staying here?
The hotel is right at Hanzhong Lu subway station
How cold & how rainy will Shanghai be in late January?
And idea what time the sun rises & sets in late January in Shanghai? |

Lu' is just Chinese for 'street' or 'road' & zhong = central. I'd recommend the 'Maglev' train from Pudong Airport, which takes just 7 minutes & 21 seconds to reach Long Yang Road Station on the south bank of the Huang Pu River. Top speed 421 km per hour! It costs me 75 yuan one way, but apparently you get a discount of 20-25 yuan if you show your airline ticket when purchasing maglev ticket. Then take a metered taxi from Longyang Rd Stn. From memeory it was about 30 yuan. Dont accept 'kind offers' of 200 yuan & up for a taxi to Nanjing Road that should only cost 30 yuan.
I'd highly recommend the Shanghai Tour bus. It stops at a number of key tourist destinations like the Oriental Pudong Pearl tower (entry ticket was 50 yuan), Peoples Square, The Bund, the Nanpu Bridge etc. The ticket has a timetable in English provided, & you can use the same ticket to get on & off all day & spend as much time at a particular tourist site as you want. |
