Hello all
quick photography question..I will be travelling in china and japan mid of this month to early march.was confused on what fim speec should I be buying ? 200 or 400 or 800 ?? I like to take panaroma shots, in particular Great Wall, temples, palaces, but with a foreground person. What do you suggest ?

For outdoors shots of landscapes and people standing still, I prefer 100 speed. It is also readily available--and cheap--in China (but never buy film at stalls in or around tourist sites, since it is probably very low-quality film being passed off as kodak or fuji.)
The general idea is that the lower speed film results in clearer pictures, but higher speeds are better in low light or if you are taking picutres of things in motion. Higher film speeds also cost more. Some people like to use 400 because it is a bit more flexible--it is better in low light than 100 and better with a flash and the quality difference is not too noticable. |
