1st trip to Shanghai, any restrictions on unmarried travelers |
|
|
I and a male childhood friend are scheduled to leave for Shanghai in March 2005 and we heard that because we are not married, we may not be able to share a room. Is there any truth to this? We want a room with two beds and we need to know soon so that we can make hotel reservations. My friend also wants to have some suits made, can anyone recommend a tailor. Thanks. |

Where did you hear that? Of course you can share a room in any Shanghai hotel. Who says you have to be married? Go ahead and make your hotel reservations now. You won't have any problems at check-in.
Sorry, I don't know any tailors in Shanghai. I am copying this information from a popular website for expatriates in Shanghai (www.shanghaiexpat.com)
"If you want to select your own material, there are several large fabric stores on Nanjing West Road, especially in the pedestrian walk section east of Xizang Road.
If you know what you want, then take your material to Danielles Design and master tailor Qiu Min Lu on Fahua Zhen Road just a block up from Huai Hai Road. Phone 6282-0925 or get Danielle on her mobile for 13901627256. I got a pretty good suit made to order with 2 pair of pants, 2 dress shirts, great material for 1800 RMB (around US $200). |
