travel to Tibet in March, can trekking be made? ? |

I really want to go to Tibet but the only time I have available is the month of March. I was wondering it's possible to do any type of trekking then? Are the roads even passible?
Thanks in advance. |

It's not really trekking season, also because trekking in Tibet is in deserted areas meaning no housing facilities on the way. You have to carry everything yourself, food, tent, sleepingbag, cookinggear and so on. The most of the treks are at 4500m and higher. Expect very cold nights and snow at night. Roads are passable but maybe not the passes on the trekking routes.
In Lhasa it's relatively mild. All major roads are open. Even at Nam Tso lake (4800) I have experienced snow at night in May and June. |
