Hello. I am planning a trip to Mongolia for next year and wanted to take a train from Beijing to Ulaan Baatar. Can anyone give me any information as to how far it is between the two cities, how long it takes by train, what the train schedules are, and how much it is for a ticket. Any information would be greatly appreicated.

there's an international train from Beijing setting out at 0740 on Saturdays, arriving at Ulan Bator at 1315 the next day. I hope this train is still running. You can call a travel agency to check it out. their number is 8610-65120507. Based on the schedule, I don't think the price will be expensive, maybe just around 500 RMB with bedding....$60-$70. |

Definately go soft sleeper... The compartment is wood panelled and there are only two berths... absolutely amazing... Can buy tickets easily at CITS offices in Beijing. |
