Can anyone tell me about airlines who let you cancel your ticket? I will be flying into China on May 15th, but am planning to continue my journey down to Vietnam and Laos overland. I am pretty sure that Chinese immigration require that I have an ongoing ticket, so the only solution I can see is buying an onward ticket and cancelling it. Any tips?

Cheers,

Bert

Chinese immigration dont care if you have an ongoing ticket. the only one who cares is a few of the airlines that demand returntickets. But most will let you buy a single ticket. China is very used to the fact that many foreigner will leave overland to pakistan, mongolia, nepal, hongKong and so on. never been checked, and never had to show any proof of tickets when applying for a visa. so dont worry.
