china - next day train travel? |

In China -- is it usually possible to get train tickets on short notice, e.g. buy them today and leave tonight on an overnight train?
Would I need to arrange travel way in advance?
I assume this does not work during the holiday week at the beginning of May - does this extend to before and after the holiday week as well?

normally you have to book in advance. I ve been travelling in March and there was problem with getting softbed tickets one day before.
Anyway, if you want to get to a popular place like Shanghai, its important you start early. |
