Paces to travel to in China |

Where is the most recommended places of China are in the very south?. As I'll have only around 15 days I'd like 5 interesting places...maybe Beijing, Xi'an and Chengdu? Or is there any other beautiful city close to Chengdu?/Xi'an?. Is there something interesting in the North of China? |

Personally my top 5 interesting China places (that I don't think would fit your timescale though!) in order of preference, would be 1) Tibet, 2) Xinjiang and the Silk Road, 3) Yunnan, 4) Northeastern (what used to be Manchuria) and 5) Beijing...!
Because of the language and cultural barrier involved in understanding and appreciating Chinese literature and perhaps Chinese history, more foreigners tend to like going just for the scenery. You're going to spend an approximately equal amount of time travelling (unless you plan to fly almost everywhere) and sleeping in comparison to actual sightseeing. I'd give Beijing at least 4 days, Xi'an 3 days. can be done as a day trip from Beijing. Other possible destinations would be Xinjiang (if you're coming in winter), Shanghai, Nanjing... there are so many!Try Beijing (four days; lots of history), fly to Xinjiang (ten days, including Heavenly lake ,Kanas lake,Bogda, Turpan, Kashgar), overnight train/flight to Xi'an (four days, including day trip to Hua Shan; ancient city, history, nature at Hua Shan), train to Pingyao (one night; ancient town), train to Beijing. |
