spend Chinese New Year on tour Hong Kong |
|
|
I'm bumming around solo in China and SE Asia for 6 weeks and will be spending the Chinese New Year in Hong Kong. As such I have a a question:
I want a taste of both the "cultural" as well as the straight up party (i.e. bars, clubs, lounges) aspects of that night. Does anyone have any suggestions as to a good game plan? I'm looking to have a fun night so if anyone else can throw me info and/or mind having me onboard their itinerary drop me a reply |

Cultural aspects in Hong Kong include the flower markets (Victoria park and Prince Edward among others) where there will be hundreds of thousands, a visit to a temple (one being Wong Tai Sin) where there will be a few more hundred thousand, firwrods which can be seen from the harbourfront with a million other people and a night parade. One thing you should be clear about is that each event will really be attended by the hundreds of thousands which can disrupt the pleasure as you are being pushed on all sides and in all directions! Perhaps the first time it will be for someone!
In terms of other events, the Lan Kwai Fong and Soho areas will generally be operating as normal with bars and clubs fairly busy. Difficult to say where will be good as many people from HK actually leave the city for a week (there are 3 public holidays), |
