Hi all, Can anyone give me a general idea of the cost of living in NE China? I will be teaching for a year and have my housing and most meals covered but what might I be spending on restaurants, soaps, shampoo, razors, transportaton, etc...?

You don't say where you will be living. Exparnses vary greatly whether you are in a city or smaller town. The major expense in the cities is housing. Primary education is also very expensive if you want to send your childen to a private international school. This can be on the level of Western cities or higher for some cities.
Everything else in China is really very reasonable. Since your room and board are paid, I think you will find China a very cheap place to live. Everything, except imported products, are less than in the US or Europe. |
