I wonder what type of transportations are available from Kunming to Lijian. Which one is more economic?

Accoding to my friends who has the experience from Kunming to Lijiang, airplane is the best choice, because the road condition is totally out of your expectation, and as MYAUDREYSUE said, it would take you about 8-10 hours in the long distance bus. And I think bump would destory your great imagination about the Kunming and Lijiang tour.Recently I have travelled from Kunming to Jinhong and through Xishuangbanna.

From Jinhong I went to Gengma then to Nansa then to Ruili. Today I will go from Ruili to Dali.

Roads are atrocious but problems are fixed quickly ie. rockslides and washouts by local workers.

The road from Kunming to Lijiang should be no problem.
