I will be in Beijing in March. Maybe my best option would be a small hotel, guesthouse, or hostel that has single rooms. Any thing you can tell me is greatly appreciated. I was told that I should be able to find a room as I like for $200 Kuai/night but I think I will have to pay a little more than that? I would like to find a clean, convenient room with a toilet in the room(ensuite). I also plan to spend a few days in Xi'an. I am a native English speaker from New York who has been studying Chinese. This will be my first visit to China. |

At WuDao Kou there is a school called Beijing Language and Culture University and there are "upscale" dorm rooms there, it runs exactly like a hotel room, with mini fridge (you have to stock it up yourself), tv, desk, bed and own bathroom and the cleaning people come in once a day to clean. Anyone can stay there. The rooms are at a rate of USD 12-14. It is a good deal, however, the only problem with it is its location. It takes around 50 mins to get into town center by the metro which is a 5 minute walk from the school.
