first time to travel to Beijing |
|
|
I gonna go to Beijing by end of July and stay for a week or so
I've never been to China before
I'll visit a German friend there, but as he has to work, he ain't got much time to guide me
can you give me some suggestions where to go in Beijing - and where better keep off ?
any idea for a day trip to the countryside ?

rent or buy a bike and start peddling your way through real BJ culture... be careful though (xiao xin).
take a tour through "old Beijing" aka hutongs... then have a beer at houhai, where you can also take a gondola ride along the river.
do all the scenic, touristy spots (forbiden city, summer palace, ming tombs.. etc.)
shop till you drop... (antique markets, fashion malls/markets, rare goods markets...etc.) and don't forget to pick up a "Beijing 2008 Olympics" T-shirt.
go to any school and talk to the students.. for mere fun.
1 week is not enough. |
