I have been to Shanghai in February, June, and November. I found if you look at the average weather around Xian and Shanghai I think late April and May you will find very nice weather. It is not very hot and not cold. You might get some rain but you should have good weather on an average.

Yes, you are right Rachell late April and May is the best time to visit this cities.
But avoid the MAY GOLDEN WEEK as possible as you can! |
