I plan to visit China in the coming May or June and hear that the new dam will flood the three river georges area. I would like to know what the expected time frame is when you will no longer be able to do the cruises etc and see the 3 georges in their current state before they get flooded. |

You could read the reviews on the Three Gorges. There are several of them. The river was initially flooded in Jume 2003 when the water level rose considerably. By 2009 it will rise some more. It is still spectacular.
This is supposed to facilitate bigger and better ships so you will still be able to cruise the river and enjoy its granduer but it is also good to travel on a smaller river with similar qualities but on a smaller scale if you can. |
