We will be in Beijing next week, 13th Feb. I am interested to hear how different Beijing will be in the Winter. Will there be snow on the ground?
Do all of the outdoor market stalls still operate?
We will also fly to Xian.
Any suggestions for "things to do or see" in these cities would be most welcome.
Also, last time I was there (in Beijing) 2003, I was asked many times by english speaking students to come and see their "artwork" Obviously I declined What is this about ?
Thanks |

It is -2 C to -11 C today, and it will be -2 C to -12 C tomorrow. there are a heavy snow last day. But today the snow stoped and the sun is shining. It will be warmer and warmer. There will be no snow left on the streets, but in some cornors there will be snow left. No leaves on the tree, no flowers except the flower markets. you can see chinese red lanterns hanging on the gates of hotels, markets and Department stores.Of course you will see many people on the street because they had come back from their home. All of the outdoor market stalls operate at that time. Hehe, many sedens of course.
If you are interested in the apparel for wholesaling, you can visit the area of Beijing Zoo. |

I was just in Beijing and Xi'an last week. It was cold, maybe -5/0C in the day and -10C at night. Dress warm, there might be bits of snow, but dont count on it, but the lakes and rivers will all be frozen.
Check out my pages on Beijing or Xi'an |
