Can you recommend a nice and reasonably quiet hotel in Kunming? I shall also visit Dali and Lijiang. Can you give me any advice on accommodation in those places? |

Camellia (RMB 30) is a good choice for budget traveller or backpacker. It is very clean. But if you want hotel, let me know. I know there is a place near Green Lake for RMB 120 per night. Many Chinese tourists. From the outside it looks good..
Dali - definitely Bird's nest. See my accommodation tip.
The room with bath is RMB 120 per night. Very clean. Converted from an old house. |

Can anyone tell me whether is it cheaper to join the "city tour" (i.e. accomodation + tour) or it is cheaper to book accomodation, then only search for travel agent to arrange city tour.
I intend to spend 3 days in Kunming and 2 days in Dali.
hope to visit Shaping market in Dali on Monday also.

You can book city tour in cheapist way ,but it is more cheap if you do it by yourself,why not?
Three days is rather enough for kunming.If you need any other help write to ilham@muztagh.net ,he will arrange the trip for you |
