Is it safe to use my credit cards in Shanghai? I don't want to carry too much cash around, but I've heard several horror stories from friends on their experience with credit card fraud in China...
I suppose it would be safe to use credit cards in the major stores and restaurants right? |

I've been living in China for 7 months now and I had no problem with credit cards at all. There are some cities in which you will not find places where you can use your credit card, but in Shanghai there are plenty of restaurants and hotels where you will not have any problem.
But it is always a good idea not to use it in small shops or where you don't feel comfortable with... |
