A survey released Thursday on rich Chinese traveling behavior showed that Beijing tops mainland cities to be rich people's first choice to travel.
The survey, carried by the American Express Company, reveals that Beijing, Shanghai, Hanghzhou, Kunming and Sanya are frequently picked up by the affluent, with Beijing ranking first among them as 24% of people surveyed chose Beijing to realize their travel dream. The city receives a high percentage of approval among people living in southeast and southern coastal areas of China, with 17% of them coming from Hangzhou, 16% from Shenzhen, 11% in Shanghai and 9% in Guangzhou.
If factors like time and expenditure are excluded, 36% wants to travel to China's mainland most, 20% choose other Asian countries, 17% and 10% pick up Europe and America respectively, and 7% select Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan.
The survey covers 1,200 'rich' people from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hanghzhou, Chengdu, Shenyang and Xi'an, who belong to the top 10% of the city's population in terms of monthly income. |
