what to wear for a long touring in Beijing |
I will be in Beijing this february and will be staying for 6 months. since I'm from a warm climate country, I am clueless with what to wear for Beijing's harsh cold winter. can anyone pls. help me.. what types of clothes should i bring (I guess the others I can buy in Beijing..) coats, jackets, thermal undies (available there?), footwear, etc. I would highly appreciate it too if you guys can tell me where to buy these things in Beijing too (near BLCU). i plan to buy the basic stuff here just to get me thru the first week and the rest I will purchase there. p.s. how is the laundry situation there.. are there accesible laundromats/dry cleaners |

February will be very chilly cold, especially when the cold current comes and after snow storm. It is wise to buy clothes locally, your classmates/professors/staff at BLCU should tell you where the nearby stores are. However, you may need a heavy coat, gloves, even a warm scarf, thick socks if not boots, thermal undies as well when you arrive to Beijing before you have time shopping.
Others may fill in with laundry facilities at BLCU. Many foreign students dorms at various universities offer such. Dry cleaning should be available on the street, again, ask the staff at BLCU. |
