My traveling companion is wanting to fly out of Urumqi, are there any international flights or quick links so he can get back to the UK? |

He can fly to Almaty and connect on flights to Europe from there. Kazakhstan maintains a consulate in Urumqi at 31 Kunming Street. He'll need to get a special transit visa there first. |

There is no direct flight to UK from Urumqi.
But you can get connected flights from some cities abroad to which Urumqi has a direct flight.
At the monet Urumqi Has direct flights to : Islamabad, Bishlek, Almaty, Moscow, Dubai, Tashkent.
But you have to ckeck the visa formalities before you made a decision.
