Hi, I will bring my family to China for about 10 days tour in next month but unfortunately we hit the Chinese Spring festival time. i know that's really a bad time for traveling in China. You will view nothing more than the crowds everywhere and transportation, accomodation-everything is hard to come by. Should I change our tour time but that is a tough job for i have everything arranged in advance? what' are your suggestions? any idea is welcome.

I don't think it is a bad idea to travel to China during the Chinese Spring Festival, it is not as crowded as the Chinese National day and May Holiday in the tourist attractions, because most of the people will stay with their families.

The advantages are:
1. Lesser people in tourists attractions than those days during other time.
2. Great time to see locals, more crowds on streets or villages if you want to see people.
3. You will be able to see more authentic celebrations such as Dragon Dancing, LionDancing, NiuYangge (traditional dance in northern China) and other celebration.

Disadvantages:
1. Too crowded if you want to travel on public transportations such as train, long distance buses. Flight will not be too crowded becouse majorities are still using trains.
2. Cold in Northern China.
